Configure Reference Fields
References enhance search functionality by allowing users to assign specific metadata to secure container files, such as case numbers, policy numbers, attorney names, or account numbers. These references are embedded within the file and are not visible to others. By enabling references, users can efficiently search for secured container files in the library using the designated reference values.
It is important to note that once a file is secured, references cannot be modified. If search flexibility is required, using searchable tags is a better option to accommodate future changes.

Click Reference Fields Tab

Name Reference Field
Name the Reference Field, such as, Case number, Last Name, Policy Number. -
Move Toggle Right if required
To set the Reference as a required field for all users, slide the toggle to the right.NOTE: When enabled, all users will be required to enter a value to encode files with references.
In most scenarios, it's best to keep this as an optional field.
