Disable Users
Locktera disables users rather than deleting them. Disabling users allows you to preserve access to their activity, library files, and history for auditing purposes.
Manually Disable a User
You can manually disable a user's account by disabling the user from the User Management screen. This option takes effect immediately.
There must always be at least one Super administrator assigned at all times. To disable a super-administrator's account, you must first add a second Super administrator and then revoke the first administrator’s privileges.
Automatic User Deletion
Users provisioned through SCIM are automatically de-provisioned through their respective systems.
Impact of Deleting a User
While deleting a user account removes their associated logs, certain configurations remain unaffected:
-
Share Links: Any Share Links created by the deleted user will remain active. Administrators retain full control over these links and can modify or revoke them as needed.
-
Folder Settings: Any folder configurations made by the deleted user will continue to function, except for notifications directed to that user.
-
Automations: Automations created by the deleted user will remain active. Administrators can monitor or modify these automations.
-
Files and Folders: Deleting a user does not affect their stored files or folders, nor does it release the storage they used.
