User Provisioning and Management

User provisioning for your Locktera account is a key administrative task for managing your organization’s users. It includes creating user accounts, setting up authentication methods, defining roles, and assigning permissions to ensure appropriate access to resources. The platform also offers user management features to update user information, security settings, and permissions as needed over time.

The following methods are available for provisioning.

Individual User Management

Using the web interface, Administrators can create, edit or delete users

Bulk User Provisioning

To Provision Users in bulk, use the bulk import option

Automate via SCIM Integration

SCIM provisioning and de-provisioning are supported through integration with your existing directory system and identity providers such as Okta, Entra ID, and Google Workspace. This integration also enables seamless single sign-on (SSO) using your integrated identity provider.

Automation Options

User creation can be automated using our APIs

External users (viewers) do not need a Locktera account to access files that have been shared with them. They can view or download files but cannot secure them. External users viewing your files authenticate using their choice of Microsoft, Google, or email verification. If you require external recipients to authenticate using a specific authentication method such as Microsoft, you must then add the recipient as a User to your organization's platform.

Maintaining platform security requires administrators to carefully manage each user's roles and responsibilities. Site administrators can update user details such as name, email address, and mobile number, and manage security settings like approved authentication methods and role settings to modify role permissions.

When integrated with SCIM through Identity Providers, Locktera can automatically update user attributes, including names and email addresses, and manage group attributes like role names and memberships.
